World Mental Health Day: 10th October - Reading Well for Mental Health


Reading Well for mental health provides helpful information and support for managing common mental health conditions, or dealing with difficult feelings and experiences. Self Help books can be very effective when read on their own or when used with prescribed medication, counselling or therapy. Reading Well is designed to give practical information and advice whole encouraging self-awareness and understanding of individual health issues.



Reading Well for young people (Shelf Help) recommends expert endorsed books about mental health, providing 12-18 year olds with advice and information about issues like anxiety, stress and OCD, and difficult experiences like bullying and exams. These books offer tips and ideas about managing emotions and coping in difficult situations.


 

All the books featured in this post can be borrowed through Slough Libraries. Check for availability on our catalogue. You can come into your local Slough Library and browse and issue books Mon-Fri 10am-4pm and Sat 10am-2pm for 15 minutes. Just bring your Library card and facemask.
