WEA Course : Exploring Inclusive Books for Children - C3745958

We all recognise the importance of children reading, but it's often hard to find books that mirror the diverse community of which they are a part. This course offers the opportunity to share reading experiences and identify a range of inclusive children's literature that tell stories and present characters where they see themselves positively as part of a richly varied world. It will explore what we can read to children and propose books for independent readers. As well as improving understanding, acceptance and tolerance to foster a healthy society, book choices can boost literacy and encourage a love of reading.

Below is a selection of inclusive books available to borrow through Slough Libraries.

You can come into your local Slough Library and browse and issue books Mon-Fri 10am-4pm and Sat 10am-2pm for 15 minutes. Just bring your Library card and facemask. Alternatively, request through Click & Collect, you just need your Library card number and PIN: https://slough.spydus.co.uk/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/MSGTRN/WPAC/HOME
