Culture - The Venue

Venue at The Curve remains closed for live events due to the ongoing and escalating Covid19 pandemic. We had hoped to reopen with limited audiences in the autumn and have been planning a range of adaptations to ensure we can welcome back our audiences safely. Sadly, the continuingand worsening situation has made this impossible. We have, however, been fortunate to receive funding from Arts Council England to purchase further technical equipment so that, in time, The Curve may additionally host events that are live-streamed to you, wherever you choose to receive them, via your personal devices.

When it is possible for audiences to return to The Curve you should see the results of our planned-for installation of new seating to refresh the look of the Venue and make your visit a more enjoyable and comfortable experience. We’ve really missed welcoming our audiences to shows and events at The Curve. There have been many highlights over the last four years since The Curve opened. One such is the annual festive pantomime in December. This year we were delighted to work with our regular pantomime producer DK ProDuKtions to film a special version of Jack and the Beanstalk which many of our primary schools booked to share with their children directly to the classrooms. This included a live introduction by two pantomime characters with each school. Around 4,700 Slough school children enjoyed a different, but equally special panto in 2020. This show was also available for our community audiences to book for a donation of their choice and watch at home. We hope many of you enjoyed this special event with your families.

- “Thanks to Helen for her continual advice and great performance from the panto crew” Feedback from one participating school

2021 looks to be equally unpredictable. We’ll keep you informed via our social media and The Curve website of future updates. Thank you for your continued support.
