Movember - Let's talk about Men's Health

Men often don’t reach out for support when they need it, or they find it difficult to know what to say to a friend in need. Movember Conversations teaches the skills and knowledge to have more meaningful chats – and it’s these conversations that can make all the difference to someone who’s struggling.

Slough Borough Council, are committed to helping residents improve their health, well-being and fitness, and to be in the best shape possible. The Slough Public Health website is packed with advice, resources, stories and links to educate, inspire and assist in reaching your goals, whatever they may be.

Slough Libraries supports the council's initiative to improve residents physical and mental health. We hold a wide range of health and healthy eating books as well as fitness training books. If your GP talks to you about ‘books on prescription’, this simply means that books should be available for you to borrow in relation to improving your mental or physical health or to improve a particular condition. We also normally hold popular seated exercise sessions in all of our branches; these are currently held online and can be viewed on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/sloughlibraries

All the books in the image below are available through Slough Libraries.

All four of our libraries – The Curve, Britwell, Cippenham and Langley – are partially open for our Click and Collect service and book returns. You just need your Library card and PIN number to use this new service and borrow books which our staff will select for you. For Click and Collect go to this link: https://slough.spydus.co.uk/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/MSGTRN/WPAC/HOME
