We’re bringing Arts Award online with our poetry-themed Arts Award Discover programme. This distance-learning module encourages children aged 8+ to explore the arts and culture around them. They will learn about poetry and how writers create it, develop research skills by finding out about different poets and be supported to produce their own poems too.
We also have the wonderful poet Joseph Coelho, and our fabulous Summer Reading Challenge Ambassadors Coral Rumble, Kate Poels and Miss Lake supporting us, and they will answer children’s questions about their work.

Discover at Home
Arts Award and Trinity College London have created a resource pack to support parents and carers to structure creative activities at home. The pack is designed to enable anyone to support a child or young person through their Discover at Home journey, even if you don’t have any prior knowledge or understanding of Arts Award. You can work through the pack for fun. However, you can also use it towards a Discover Certificate. Slough Libraries and Culture service is a registered Arts Award Centre that can support you through that process, so please email us at library@slough.gov.uk if you are considering this.
